Enter the Beard is wrapping up it's festival run with a remarkable streak. The short documentary was a Winner of the Audience Choice & Filmmaker's Choice Awards at the 2010 DC Shorts Film Festival; Winner of the Best Short Documentary & Best of Fest awards at the 2010 NW Projections Film Festival; Official Selection at the 2011 Seattle International Film Festival;  New Jersey International Film Festival; Myrtle Beach International Film Festival; Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival (London); Indie Spirit International Film Festival; Favorites Film Festival (Berlin); Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival; the 2010 New Hampshire International Film Festival; the 2011 Coney Island Film Festival; & the 2011 Poppy Jasper Film Fetival where it won Best Documentary!

February 2011 brough the release of the music video for Tu Fawning's "Sad Story" - a track off their new album. I shot the video with director Edward Davee on HD and Super 16mm. This was the last Super 16mm we shot on his Eclair camera we used for How the Fire Fell.

An Antonym for Apathy, which I shot on Super 16mm here in Portland for director Jay Alvarez was released this spring.

My Beer with Bill, directed by Brian Padian is in Post-Production. I shot the film in January at a variety of locations in Portland on HD with Nikon lenses.

Welcoming Departure - On October 27th, 2010, I wrapped up my first feature film as Writer/Director. The film was shot in 26 days at over 34 locations in Bellingham, Washington and Portland, Oregon. A dedicated crew and talented cast persevered to complete the film on budget and on schedule. It is currently in the process of being edited. The jazz soundtrack is being worked on by Matthew Bottiglieri. We are looking forward to an early 2012 release for the film. How the Fire Fell - November 4th 2010, brought the private screening and fundraising event for Edward Davee's debut feature film How the Fire Fell (formarly The Story of Hurt) at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon. It was a successful screening to launch the film off into the world of festivals. I was the Director of Photography for the film, which was shot on Super 16mm at several location in Oregon. Recently, the film has won Best Feature at the 2011 Local Sightings Film Festival in Seattle and has played at theatres all around the Northwest.

 

Two Pints Lighter - August brought the wrap on Matt Lawrence's debut feature film, Two Pints Lighter. I shot the film on HD in Bellingham, Washington and at various locations in New Jersey and Brooklyn. It is now in the process of being edited with a release planned for mid-2012. Enter the Beard - The short documentary that I produced with Matt Lawrence, Charles Parker Newton and David Rosenblum has recently began the festival circuit. I shot the film on HD in Anchorage, Alaska in 2009. Currently it has won; Audience Choice and Filmaker's Favorite Awards at the 2010 DC Shorts Film Festival and has been an Official Selection in the 2010 New Hampshire Film Festival and the 2010 Coney Island Film Festival. Last Night, Long Ago - The short film that I wrote, directed and shot (on Super 16mm) in early 2010 is still making the festival rounds. Currently, it won Gold at the Oregon Film Awards and has been an Official Selection at the 2010 Big Island Film Festival, Woods Hole Film Festival, NW Projections Film Festival, Ellensburg Film Festival and the Indie Spirit Film Festival.
